EDIT - Fixed the background to a much lighter one, to make Layla stand out more.

Well I've been artblocked as hell lately. The whole style change is killing me. But after doodling a quick derp and seeing Shichi's work, I was inspired to try and make something that wasn't a derp as well.
It's difficult to break out of the block, but I think it's starting to fade? I dunno.

But I like how this came out owo

I always see Layla in Glory City. I think I should put her family in there too since I can't seem to be able to write the whole fanfiction anymore. If she was to be in that city, I can imagine her working in the Lights as either a break dance teacher, or a famous dancer.

wow, this is great Mars! Layla looks awesome here ^^ seems like your idea of trying new styles seems to have enhanced your work even with your older characters ^^ Layla looks a little sad to me in this, but the expression draws me to like it even more

Eh, yeah but it also put me into art block and now I can draw only if I reference poses. Plus the eyes and noses always give me troubles... but there was no way I would abandon my old characters >:D

Haha, Layla was meant to look more lost in thought than sad, I guess I still need to nail down the expressions better :lol:

haha, well... block happens at the worst of times, i know that all too well >.< been trying to write Dawn of Shadows and can't seem to get anywhere ^^;

but still, her expression does look like she could be lost in thought, just the little frown she has made me think it was something more in depth than that ^^ still Marty, you did a great job!

...and I have today off, so expect to be stalked :D

Nice pose! You're definitely getting into this new style a bit. The bg kinda distracts from the pretty details, though, since it's dark like Layla's coloration and the very subtle highlighting doesn't make her stand out against it. :/
