ALL the dragons of this world though have a secondary human or humanoid form to blend better with the majority of humans and Marashi.
A Dragon has a special mark on their ID Card that certifies the fact they're dragons. Keeping their status hidden (when possible) is illegal and punishable with a few months of jail.
ALL OF THESE DRAGONS HAVE TWO WAYS OF GIVING BIRTH AS THEIR REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM FULLY SHIFTS BETWEEN THE TWO FORMS.
Dragon form - lay egg.
Human/humanoid form - give birth like a human.
Rukia Dragons
Place of Origin - North and South America
Anthropomorphic dragons who are able to control the elements. They're the exception to the rule that every dragon also has a secondary form (not all of them in fact have a secondary form).
Also exception to the reproductive system rule (they're mammals).

Soul Dragons
Place of Origin - Africa, with a main root in Egypt and Syria.
Soul dragons are normal, winged dragons with thick skin and no scales. They come in any colour and can have basically any marking pattern, although they rarely have brightly saturated markings.
Their main skin colour is usually a dark colour, ranging from pink to red to blue to black.
Eyes are usually blue, red or green, and have slit pupils.
It is important to remember that Soul Dragons ALWAYS have a stripe marking going from the sides of their mouth to their jawline, pretty much like a cheetah (example coming soon luckily).
Front and back legs are muscular and thick. Front paws have four fingers and a thumb, back paws have only four fingers. Large, sharp claws.
Teeth are rather sharp. Diet is mostly omnivorous with a preference for fish.
They freaking LOVE fish.
Tongue is never forked.
Tongue is never forked.
They have large ears and thick tails. The tails ends in a shape that differs from dragon to dragon - in the tail they have three coloured gems which store sunlight and spiritual energy. Once there's enough sunlight or spiritual energy stored, the energy can be released and shaped in the form of a weapon (or energy rays, depending on the character's preference). Weapons can be scythes, swords, knives, chakrams etc. Rarely guns, as it would involve a great control over their manipulating power. The colour of the weapon depends on the gem's colour. (blue gems -> blue weapon)
They have no elemental control other than this.
The colour of the gems, therefore that of the weapon as well, is ALWAYS the same as their Aura's colour.
Soul Dragons' wings are large and feathery. The pattern of the wings varies depending on the dragon's colours. Some might have a gem implanted in the wings as well, but that's rather rare.
Their secondary humanoid form is 90% human, but keeps the tail and the large ears (with the original colours fading into the skin colour). Some of these Soul Dragons also keep the facial markings, but it's not a must.
Their skin is rather thick in human form too, making them rather sturdy.
Their behavior is completely human like and they are well integrated in the society.
Wingless Dragons
Place of Origin - Europe
In this category fall all the western dragons born without wings. (Gorfan is the best example)
They are normal, scaley or thick skinned dragons with horns and fur on their backs and tail. Some are born with tail spikes instead of the fur. A few are born with spikes all over their back.
Most of these dragons have unsaturated base colours with a few markings on them. Markings are usually spots or stripes, but not always. The markings might be bright.
Some Wingless' have instead silky, short fur all over their body. In this case they might be referred to as Wingless Furdragons.
Teeth are sharp, tongue and gums are usually darker than a human's. Blood is dark red, almost violet.
Eyes have slit pupils. Tongue may be forked.
A few of these dragons have large ears, but it's rare.
Their body is less sturdy and muscular than the Soul Dragons, more built for speed than for strength. They're quick and agile.
Elements span from fire breathing and control to wind, electricity and earth. Some instead have poisonous teeth.
Their human form is completely human - they do not keep the markings, the horns, not even the tail. They can still control their element though.
Unless it's stated otherwise on their ID card, a wingless dragon could fake him/herself for a human and not be suspected of being a dragon.
Western Dragons
Place of Origin - North America, Australia
Under this category fall all the scaled, winged dragons. There are almost no limits on these kinds of dragons, but they all have to
- Have fur on their neck
- Have feathered OR membranous wings
- Have four fingers and a thumb on their front paws
- Have horns (they may resemble gems)
- Have at least one marking colour
- Have a rather sturdy or short body
- Have rounded pupils
- Be able to spit fire
- NEVER HAVE OTHER ELEMENTS
- Have a human form without markings but MAYBE with wings, horns and tail (50% of the cases)
- In case their human form doesn't have markings, wings, horns and tail, then it's like a wingless dragon's (40% of the cases)
- Some cases have a human form being more dragonic than human. Meaning the skin colour remains the same, they show the markings, they keep wings, tail, ears... like an anthro dragon, but with a human's face. A thin layer of skin covers the scales underneath. Their reproductive system is that of a human's though. (remaining 10%)
These dragons' behavior ranges from human like to really animalistic and beast-like. Some needs to be approached carefully.
Eastern Dragons
Place of Origin - China, Japan
These dragons are more commonly found in Asia than in America, so you won't see many in Glory City and Torre Vittoria.
These dragons are mostly white, blue, green, red, yellow or black and are always scaley. They have fur going from their head to their tail and a long body and tail. Legs are short, and they have no wings.
They rarely have markings.
They're basically the classic Chinese Dragons you have always seen in the paintings, but with a less beast-like face.
They're also vegetarian for the most part but will eat fish and eggs.
They always have an elemental control that's related to their scale colour.
- White - Wind / Healing properties
- Red - Fire
- Yellow - Electricity
- Green - Earth or Plant growth
- Blue - Water or Ice
- Black - Mind Control
